The FREC3 qualification is part of the Pre-Hospital Care framework regulated by Qualsafe Awards, designed to meet the requirements for those working or volunteering in emergency response roles. Throughout the 5-day course, learners will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to a wide range of medical emergencies. Key topics include:

• Scene safety and patient assessment

• Airway management including the use of OPA, NPA, and suction

• CPR and use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

• Management of catastrophic bleeding using tourniquets and haemostatic agents

• Trauma care including burns, fractures, and spinal immobilisation

• Medical emergencies such as strokes, seizures, and heart attacks

• Administration of emergency oxygen

• Safeguarding and communication in pre-hospital settings
